The Cassville Middle School Volleyball team earned first place in the Big 8 Conference Tournament on Oct. 9 at McDonald County. “The girls fought hard all season to earn a number one seed in the Big 8 West Conference tournament,” said Courtney Hammen, middle school volleyball coach. “We traveled to McCounty to play Nevada as our first opponent of the day to determine if we played for first or third place in the tournament. This was a hard fought game that went to three sets and the girls played hard and came out with the win. We moved on to the first place game against our favorite rival, Monett. The girls played smart and quick and came away with the win in two sets. These seventh-grade girls worked hard and improved all season long. We’re very excited to continue watching them in the future.” Front row, from left: Alexis Lopez, Tomi Blankenship, Taylor Kennedy and Audrey Kennedy.
