Two members of the Cassville girls golf team will head to Columbia next week to compete at the Class 2 Girls Golf State Championships.
Avery Chappell and Alyzea Myers are the second and third qualifiers ever from Cassville.

The top two teams advanced, and the next 12 girls, after team scores are removed, also advanced. Eldon won the tournament with a 410, Nevada was second with a 412, Osage third with a 424 and Cassville fourth with a 454. Nevada’s Emree Cameron won the individual tournament with a 78. The highest qualifying score was a 116.
“Avery was 4th place and received All-District honors,” said Jay Rogers, Cassville golf coach. “I’m very happy and excited for both of these girls, especially since last year Avery was unable to compete in districts due to quarantine, and Alyzea missed going to state by one stroke.
“I’m looking forward to watching them compete and hope they enjoy this experience.”
Chappell and Myers will compete at state on Monday and Tuesday at the Columbia Country Club.
