22-year-old being held on $40,000 cash bond

A Cassville man is facing a felony sex crime charge for alleged relations with a victim under 17 years of age.

Gairon Lombard, 22, of Cassville, is charged with second-degree statutory rape.

According to a probable cause statement filed by Det. Abby Parsons, with the Barry County Sheriffs Office, Lombard allegedly committed the offense by having sexual intercourse multiple times with a victim less than 17 years old at the time and while he was 21 years old.

The statement said he serves as a risk to the victim if a warrant was not issue. Lombard is currently on probation for stealing in Lawrence County, and he pleaded guilty in Seneca municipal court on Aug. 18 to resisting arrest.

Lombard is being held in the Barry County jail on a cash-only bond of $40,000.

He has been arraigned, and a bond appearance hearing is set for Thursday at 10 a.m. in the courtroom of Judge Robert Foulke.
