Vehicle hits tree, catches fire south of Aurora

A Verona woman was injured and arrested following a wreck at 3:44 p.m. on Farm Road 2010, two miles south of Aurora.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Rachel Littig, 34, of Verona, was driving a Buick passenger vehicle, year unknown, westbound when her vehicle drove off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree, catching on fire after the collision.

Littig suffered serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Aurora.

She was wearing a safety device, and the vehicle was totaled.

At 4:40 p.m., Littig was arrested for driving while intoxicated, careless and imprudent driving involving an accident and no driverís license. She was released to emergency services.
