Inpatient Unit reopens at Mercy Hospital Cassville
February fire temporarily shut down some services
Mercy Hospital Cassville is once again caring for inpatients after a fire in late February temporarily closed parts of the facility.
“Our teams have been working diligently during the past month to ensure we could restore those inpatient services to our community,” said Valerie Davis, administrator for Mercy Hospital Cassville. “While our operating room and one inpatient room will remain closed for more repairs, reopening our eight other inpatient rooms is a huge accomplishment for us.”
No one was hurt in the Feb. 22 fire, which began in a rooftop HVAC unit, but the facility shut down temporarily for repairs. Mercy fully resumed its emergency room services in Cassville later that week and reopened the clinic the following week. This latest milestone means all services – except surgery – are once again available in Cassville.
“It’s always our goal to provide as much care as possible close to home,” Davis said. “Thanks to the incredible teamwork between our contractors, leaders and co-workers, we’re able to do just that. We’re so grateful to our community for the prayers, encouragement and support throughout this process.”
