Lady Wildcats 2nd in home tourney

The Cassville girls soccer team took second place in its four-team Cassville Kickoff Classic on Friday and Saturday. The Lady Wildcats defeated Aurora, 4-0, fell to Branson, 3-1, then defeated Monett, 2-1. The game-winner against Monett was scored by Lexie Sanders (No. 20). Maddie Bowyer scored the first goal in the contest against the Lady Cubs on Saturday, netting a penalty kick in the first half. Bowyer was named the team’s Player of the Week, getting 4 assists in the jamboree on March 16 then produced 4 goals and 1 assist in the Cassville Kickoff Classic Friday and Saturday, making her the top goal-scorer of the tournament.
