Francis “Ed” Houston
Francis “Ed” Houston, age 78, of Shell Knob, Missouri, passed away at 5:02 a.m. on Monday, January 25, 2021, at his home. He was born February 21, 1942, in Ottawa, Kansas, the son of William and Dorothy (Blankenship) Houston.
Ed worked as a baker for Holsum Bread Company in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and California, before beginning his career as a Truck Driver as an owner/operator. He was a member of the Victory Baptist Church in Cassville, Missouri, and the Sons of Thunder Prison Ministry.
On July 14, 1960, he married Carol Sue Willis, in Lockwood, Missouri.
Ed is survived by his wife of 60 years, Carol Sue; one daughter, Carla Gold and her husband, David, of Marionville, Missouri; one son, Tom Houston and his wife, Abby, of Marshfield, Missouri; four grandchildren, Amy Ford and her husband, Andy, of Republic, Missouri, Allie, Addison, and Afton Houston of Marshfield, and four great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Paisley, Silas, and Hudson Ford.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, William, and Dorothy, one son, James Houston and his aunt and uncle, Naomi, and Don Klingensmith.
A visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 29, 2021, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora, Missouri, with a funeral service to follow at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow at the Maple Park Cemetery in Aurora.
Due to Covid 19, the family has requested for those attending the services to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.
