Beverly Ann “Betty” Shockley

Beverly Ann “Betty” Shockley, 85, of Cassville, passed away Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021, at The Communities of Wildwood Ranch in Joplin.

She was born July 5, 1935, in Exeter, the daughter of Rolland and Veva (Garrison) Hopkins who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were two brothers, Robert Hopkins and Darrell Hopkins; two sisters Peggy McCain and Frankie Vanderpool.

Survivors include: three sons, Rick Lester and his wife Jeanenne of Lawrence, Kan., Donnie Lester and his wife Michelle of Joplin, and Brian Lester and his wife Sara of Overland Park, Kan.; three brothers, Wendell Hopkins and his wife Fern of Cassville, Jimmy Hopkins and his wife Sharon of Cassville, and Jay Hopkins and his wife Ann of Pleasant Hope; one sister, Donna Guzman of San Jose, Calif.; seven grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

She received her education in Cassville schools. She worked at Jumping Jacks Shoe Factory which later became Justin Boot from where she retired. After retiring she worked at Hardee’s and was an Avon lady for years. She was a member of Blessing Heights Worship Center.

Graveside services were held Friday, Jan. 29, at Corinth Cemetery in Cassville, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Rev. James Stewart conducted the services.
