Meet Harper, the Haven of the Ozarks Pet of the Week. This week, the Haven is looking for a very special family and a certain type of home for a sweet kitten.†Harper is a beautiful girl, who came to the Haven from a home that had too many cats. Harper is loving to humans and will make an excellent companion. While she is friendly with other cats, she does have Feline Leukemia. This disease is transmittable to other cats, and she should go to a home with other FeLV positive kitties or without any other felines. She will also need to be an indoor cat to keep her from transmitting the disease. FeLV can affect a catís immune system. Sometimes, a cat will live a long and normal life with FeLV, and sometimes they are negatively affected and have chronic illnesses. In those sad instances, the life expectancy can be as short as three years. While here, she has been in great health. We have estimated her DOB to be June 1, 2020. People may contact the Haven for more information about meeting Harper. Contributed photo
