Sydney “Brian” Terry, 57, of Minco, Okla., passed away Monday, Dec. 28, 2020, at his home.
He was born Feb.y 19, 1963, in Cassville, the son of Fred and Margaret (Norvell) Terry. He grew up in Purdy, and graduated from Purdy High School in 1981. While in high school he was Missouri State High School Rodeo Champion as a calf roper. He received a rodeo scholarship at Labette County Community College in Parsons, Kan., and then attended one year at Missouri Southern in Joplin. In 1985, he moved to Oklahoma City, Okla., and worked as a carpenter for 20 years, and later worked as a mechanic on large engines for oil and gas fields in Oklahoma.
As a young boy he was a member of Arnhart Baptist Church where he was baptized and later became active in Life Church in Mustang, Okla. Survivors include: his parents, Fred and Margaret Terry of Purdy; two sons, Joshua Terry and his wife Amber of Harrah, Okla., and Cody Terry of Tuttle, Okla.; two brothers, Monte Terry and his wife Sue of Fayetteville, Ark., and Greg Terry and his wife Heidi of Simi Valley, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Graveside services were held Monday, Jan. 4, at Arnhart Cemetery east of Purdy, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Lawrence Shuey conducted the services.
