Ralph LeGale Wofford
Ralph LeGale Wofford, 92, of Cassville, passed away Sunday, Dec. 6, 2020, at his home.
He was born Jan. 4, 1928, in Butler, Okla., the son of Henry Frank and Inez (Lobaugh) Wofford. On Dec. 2, 1951, in Oklahoma City, Okla., he was united in marriage to Charlene Maxwell, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were his parents; one brother, Henry Thomas; three sisters, Bernice Yates, Emma Oliver and Virginia Schwab and a son-in-law, James Dutra.
Survivors include: one son, Ralph Michael Wofford and his wife Renee of Stockton, Calif.; two daughters, Lana Beck and her husband Kent and Rhonda Dutra all of Cassville; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He grew up in Oklahoma and graduated from Stafford High School in 1946, and received his Associateís Degree from Sayre Junior College and his Bachelorís Degree from Central State University in Edmond, Okla, majoring in Industrial Arts and completed his teaching credentials. Later, he completed his administrative credentials at Sacramento State University in California. During the Korean War he served in the U.S. Air Force and became a Staff Sergeant. He was a skilled farmer and cattle rancher. He was a teacher and principal at Collegeville Elementary School.
After moving to Cassville in 1999, he became a member of Mt. Olive Southern Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 20, at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville.
Graveside services will be held at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 30, at Greenwood Cemetery in Weatherford, Okla.
