Barbara Joan Stewart
Barbara Joan Stewart, 82, of Cassville, passed away Friday, Nov. 6, 2020, at Cox Hospital in Branson.
She was born Nov. 15, 1937, in Springfield, the daughter of Floyd and Marion (Frieze) McCart. On Jan. 17, 1959, in Springfield she was united in marriage to Clifford O. “Cliff” Stewart, who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents and one brother, Larry McCart.
Survivors include: four sons, Floyd “Butch” Stewart and his wife Barbara and Mike Stewart and his wife Gina, all of Cassville, Pat Stewart and his wife Holly of Fairview, and Randy Stewart and his wife Sara of Cassville; three daughters, Suzan Harris and her husband Dave of Wheaton, Mari Hendrix and her husband Jerry “Tig” of Purdy, and Ramona Pekkola and her husband Tip of Carlton, Ore.; two sisters, Beverly Taylor and her husband Kent of Ash Grove, and Roberta Stewart and her husband Terry of Republic; 19 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She grew up and received her education in Elkland, and was a 1956 graduate of Elkland High School. For several years she and her husband resided in several areas while Cliff worked for NOAA’s National Weather Service. In 1970, they moved to Cassville, where she was a dairy farmer. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, charter member of Southwest Missouri Dairy Goat Association, a member of Registered Jersey Association, lifetime 4-H leader earning 4-H Hall of Fame Honor and worked with livestock shows as coordinator and judge. Graveside services were held Wednesday, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Butterfield under direction of McQueen Funeral Home in Wheaton. Pastor Paul Wahlert conducted the services.
