Meet GeeGee, the Haven of the Ozarks Pet of the Week. GeeGee came to the Haven after living in a home for 10 years. Sadly, her owner passed, leaving her an orphan. When GeeGee got here, she refused to eat or drink, and Haven staff were afraid she would pass away from a broken heart. Having seen this behavior in elderly and orphaned cats before, staff decided to let her stay in the office to hopefully give her more of a feeling of being in a home. She is eating and drinking again, she is litter box-trained, she gets along with the office dogs and she loves†gentle petting. Because she is so old, Haven staff really want a low-key home for GeeGee. While she is good with all people, she wonít be able to go to a home with young and energetic children. If anyone has a quiet place, meet this sweet girl and help her get back in a real home because thatís where she needs to be. The Haven is open 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day of the week. Contributed photo
