Arkansas man arrested after chase
Meth found in vehicle after arrest
An Arkansas man was arrested on Oct. 27 after leading Barry County deputies on a chase in Golden.
According to Det. Rob Evenson, the chase was at about 1:25 a.m. and covered a few miles near J and RA highways. A deputy saw Wallace in his vehicle shining a spotlight in a field and attempted to make a traffic stop.
The pursuit ended at a driveway in Arrow Point, and Wallace was detained without further incident.
According to a probable cause statement filed by Barry County Deputy Noah Whitehead, a search of the vehicle turned up an American Tactical GSG AK47, a glass pipe, rolling papers, marijuana and methamphetamine.
Wallace has multiple prior felony convictions in Benton County, Ark., including second-degree forgery, possession of ephedrine, possession of a controlled substance. He also failed to appear at a pervious court hearing in Arkansas.
Evenson said Barry County deputies has had conversations with the ATF about bringing a federal felon in possession of a firearm charge against Wallace.
Wallace is being held in the Barry County jail on a $30,000, cash-only bond. He has been arraigned, and a bond hearing is scheduled for Thursday at 10 a.m. in the courtroom of Judge Robert Foulke.
