Wheaton UMC hosting Fall Festival

The Wheaton United Methodist Church will host its annual Fall Festival on Nov. 7 in the church’s fellowship hall. All are invited to attend for an evening of food, fun and fellowship. The event will include a bake sale, crafts and a full turkey dinner with drink and dessert. The meal will be served from 4:30-6:30 p.m. and is $8 for adults and $4 for children under 12. Carryouts will be available and may be ordered ahead on Friday and through noon Saturday by calling 417-847-7276. The church is located at 101 Santee in Wheaton.

Workday set at cemetery

Corinth Cemetery Association has scheduled a workday to be held on Saturday, beginning at 9 a.m. For more information, people may contact Yvonne Stumpff.

Veterans Task Force of America to meet

The Veterans Task Force of America, Inc. will be meeting at the Angus Branch Steakhouse in Monett on Nov. 1 at 4 p.m. All honorably discharged men, women, wartime or peacetime are welcomed.

OATS Transit resuming

OATS Transit is open for regular transportation service, however face masks are required on the bus due to COVID-19. OATS Transit is available to the rural general public of any age, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. It also contracts with a number of agencies to serve their clients.

Polling place changing in county

People who vote at Kings Prairie/Pleasant Ridge have a change to their polling place. For the Nov. 3, 2020 General Election, and all future elections unless stated otherwise, Kings Prairie/Pleasant Ridge voters will vote at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church, located at the corner of Highway Z and Highway VV. Cassville Health Center hosting Halloween event

The Cassville Health Center will host a drive-thru Halloween Trick or Treat event from 5-6 p.m. on Friday at the facility, located at 1300 County Farm Rd. in Cassville. People may drive through the front parking lot and staff will bring candy from the residents to the trick-or-treaters.

Absentee voting ongoing

Absentee voting is ongoing at the Barry County Clerk’s Office in Cassville, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. through Nov. 2. From Oct. 26-30, the office will be open until 5 p.m., and on Oct. 31, it will be open from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Voters must present one form of identification to vote, such as a Driver’s License or Voter Registration Card. If a voter has moved and has an address change, the voter needs to contact the Clerk’s office or come to the office and have information updated before Election Day. Those who wait until Election Day will hold up the line. Polls open at 6 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. on Election Day. Seligman dances continue

The Seligman Chamber of Commerce dances at the Seligman Chamber Event Center will continue every Saturday at 7 p.m. Everyone is also asked to bring a snack to share. For more information, people may call 417-662-3612.
