A former owner of the Cassville Democrat died Tuesday in a plane crash in Indiana.

The Posey County, Ind., Coroner identified Michael Schlichtman, 57, of Steamboat Springs, Colo., formerly of Cassville, and William Rohland, 75, of Garden Grove, Calif., as victims in the ultralight plane crash.

Tom Latham, Posey County sheriff, said his office is working with the FAA and NTSB to determine the cause of the crash.

Deputies said the plane took off from an airfield near the crash site, and both men were still belted in their seats.
