Two die in boat wreck
Vessels collide west of point 24
Two people died on Sept. 8 in a boat collision at 7:40 a.m. on Table Rock Lake, 3/4-mile west of point 24.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Ted Dossett, 55, of Gentry, Ark., was operating a 1993 Ranger 392V eastbound when an unknown factor caused his vessel to cross the path of a 2018 Bass Cat Caracal, being driven by William Ward, 65, of Shell Knob, causing the Caracal to strike the front port side of the Ranger.
Dossett and a 14-year-old male occupant in his vessel were both pronounced dead at the scene at 9:05 a.m.
Ward was not injured. Both vessels were totaled.
These are the fourth and fifth boating fatalities of the year for Troop D of the Patrol.
