Anna Marie Hubbard

Anna Marie Hubbard, 87, of St. Simons Island, Ga., formerly of Shell Knob, passed away Thursday, Sept. 17, 2020, in her daughter’s home.

She was born Dec. 11, in Chicago, Ill. She was the daughter of Rolf and Mitzi (Gacek) Wehr. On June 15, 1957, she married John M. Manna and to this union one daughter was born on July 20, 1965. In 1979, she was united in marriage to Dean J. Hubbard who preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 2009. Also preceding her in death were her parents.

Survivors include: one daughter, Dr. Marci M. Manna of St. Simons Island, Ga.; one brother, Rolf Wehr and his wife Jean of Springfield; one stepdaughter, Sharon Webber and her husband Bill of Minnesota; one stepson, Steve Hubbard and his wife Terri of Illinois; and four step grandchildren.

She grew up and received her education in Chicago, Ill., graduating from Carl Shultz High School in 1950. In the early 1990s, they moved to Shell Knob. In June 2014, she moved to Branson, until June 2019, when she moved to Brunswick, Ga., to be near her daughter and son-in-law. She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Shell Knob and was a member of the women’s guild.

Graveside services were held Thursday, Sept. 24, at McCullough Cemetery in Viola, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Shell Knob. Pastor James Schnackenberg conducted the services.
