James “Clyde” Burnette

James “Clyde” Burnette, 81, of Cassville, passed away Saturday, Sept. 19, 2020, at Cassville Health Care and Rehabilitation.

He was born Oct. 29, 1938, in Washburn, the son of Harry Ottis and Ollie (Ford) Burnette. On June 16, 1962, in Exeter, he was united in marriage to Janie “Bernice” Edmonson, who preceded him in death on April 3, 2013. Also preceding him in death were his parents; one son, James Lee Burnette; five brothers, Jack, Bill, Glenn “Murt”, Kenny and Ray Burnette; two sisters, Pauline Schell and Mabel Cope and a son-in-law, Jeff Horner.

Survivors include: three daughters, Tammy Teresa Burnette, Nancy Ann Horner and Rhonda Kayleen Curtis and her husband Seamus all of Cassville; one brother, Bobbie Burnette of Cassville; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

He grew up and received his education in Washburn. For several years, he worked at various jobs and for 41 years, he drove a truck for Loren Rose. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 25, at Washburn Prairie Cemetery under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Chaplain Jack Betts will conduct the services.
