Larry Luther James, 73, of Cassville, passed away Saturday, Sept. 12, 2020, at his home.

He was born June 8, 1947, in Sparks, Okla., the son of Elmer and Marie (Wallis) James, who preceded him in death. Also preceding him in death were one sister, Patsy Quinn; a brother-in-law, Mark Melson; one daughter, Lisa Bruton and a grandson, Dusty Hodge.

Survivors include: his siblings, Don James and his wife Marlene of Shawnee, Okla., Carol Melson of Chandler, Okla., and Jesse James and his wife Diane of Davenport, Okla.; two daughters, Stacy Hodge and her husband Greg of Cassville, and Jana Weatherford and her husband TJ of Aurora; 12 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He grew up in Sparks, Okla. In 1965, he graduated from high school in Davenport, Okla. He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Germany. While in Oklahoma, he worked at Worthington Pump in Shawnee and in 1982 moved to Cassville and worked for Garrett Manufacturing. Later he worked at Alvey and then George’s Processing. In his later years he became an electrician and worked for King Electric in Fayetteville, Ark.

Graveside services with military honors will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Hogeye Cemetery at Wheaton, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Donnie Spears will conduct the services.
