Rebecca Lynn Steiner
Rebecca Lynn Steiner, 63, of Winfield, Kan., passed from this life to her Heavenly home on Sunday, August 16, 2020, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Springfield, Mo., from complications of an automobile accident.
Becky was born on October 4, 1956, in Kirkwood, Mo., daughter of Edward and Ruth Etta (Murray) Buchner. She graduated from Bloom Township High School before earning her Degree in Special Education from Illinois State University, Normal, IL. Becky taught as a Special Education Teacher for special needs kids for thirty-three years and was very dedicated to her children. She had fire, sass, and a heart of gold. Bringing her joy in life was being with her children and granddaughter, being at the lake watching and participating in watersports. Becky also had a love for animals, especially cats. She was a CASA Advocate.
On September 5, 1987, in Pierce City, Mo., Rebecca Buchner and Bob Steiner were united in marriage. To this union, they were blessed with three children.
Becky is survived by her husband, Bob; one son, Zach Steiner and wife Jamie, of Golden, Mo.; two daughters, Aly Steiner and Craig Hart of Eagle Rock, Mo., and Abby Steiner and Gonzalo Contreras of Winfield, Kan.; her mother, Ruth Buchner of Eagle Rock, Mo.; one granddaughter, Kaylan Marler; one brother, Bill Buchner and wife Kendra of Idleyld Park, Oreg.; her uncle, Bob Murray and wife Phyllis of Milford, Ill.; and a host of extended family and friends.
Becky was preceded in death by her father, Edward Buchner.
Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Buchanan Funeral Home in Monett. Pastor Bill Kenagy will be officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the American Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) or to the Special Olympics in care of the funeral home.
Family and friends attending the service are asked to social distance and to wear a facemask for their protection and others.
Arrangements are entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, Mo.
