Cassville schedules Citywide Clean-up

Event the week of Aug. 24 on normal schedule service day

The Citywide Clean-up is week of Aug. 24 on normally scheduled service days and is only for residents inside the city of Cassville.

This program is being offered with the intent of providing opportunity to clean out garages, basements or closets and get rid of old worn out and broke items.

The following is required for curb-side pick-up:

• Residents must have their acceptable items at the curb (where the trash cart normally sets) no later than 7 a.m. the morning of the normally scheduled service day for pick-up.

• Any non-acceptable items will be left at the curb for disposal by the resident.

• Crews cannot access personal property to assist in moving items to the curb.

• Clean-up will not take place at businesses, apartment buildings or at vacant homes

•  No construction or large remodel projects will be accepted

Acceptable items include:

• Furniture, indoor or outdoor

• Beds or mattresses (Please limit large furniture and mattress items to two)

• Hand and small power tools (Must be removed of oil and fuel)

• Weed eaters or small push mowers (Must be drained of all fuel and oil)

• Toys and bicycles (Must be broken down to 5-foot lengths or cannot be picked up)

• Old clothes or small items (Please bags items and do not leave loose)

• Microwaves

• Televisions and monitors

• Toilet or sink bowl

Items that will not be accepted include:

• Tires and wheels

• Construction or large remodel projects

• Brush, limbs or yard waste

• Items over 6 feet in length

• Rocks, bricks or concrete

• Bulk liquids

• Propane tanks

• Fluorescent, CFL or HID bulbs

• Batteries

• Hot tubs or large pools

• Large lumber or landscaping ties

• Medical Items (needles)

• Hazardous waste (including paint, oil, aerosol cans, fertilizers, etc.)

• Vehicle parts (motors, doors, hoods, riding mowers, motorcycles, ATVs, etc.)
