3-wheeled motorcycle rear-ends van on Hwy. 39

Two Clever residents were injured Saturday in a wreck at 3:10 p.m. on Highway 39, two miles south of Aurora.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Dennis Cisneros, 59, of Clever, was driving a 2015 Can-Am Spyder three-wheeled motorcycle southbound when his vehicle struck the rear of a 2014 Chrysler Town and Country van, being driven by Trenton Schmidt, 43, of Salina, Kan., which was stopped in traffic for another southbound vehicle in front of it making a turn. The collision caused the motorcycle to run off the right side of the roadway and overturn, ejecting two occupants.

Cisneros suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. A passenger on the motorcycle, Patsy Cisneros, 62, of Clever, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. Schmidt was not injured.

All involved were wearing safety devices. The van sustained minor damage, and the motorcycle was totaled.
