Carthage woman injured in wreck
Driver avoids trash can in roadway, hits rock wall
A Carthage woman was injured Sunday in a wreck at 7:15 p.m. on Highway M, north of Bonita Lane.
According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Celia Whitehead, 65, of Carthage, was driving a 2001 Ford F150 southbound and traveled off the roadway to avoid hitting a trash can in the roadway, striking a rock wall.
Whitehead suffered minor injuries and was transported by private vehicle to Freeman Hospital in Joplin.
She was wearing a safety device, and the vehicle sustained moderate damage.
