Vehicle hits bridge rail east of Purdy

A Wheaton man was injured in a wreck at 3:10 p.m. Thursday on Highway 97 east of Highway 86, four miles west of Purdy.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Jose Bravo, 27, of Wheaton, was driving a 1989 Buick LeSabre eastbound when his vehicle drove off the right side of the roadway, striking a bridge rail.

Bravo suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin.

He was wearing a safety device, and the vehicle was totaled.
