Mal Hudson, 78, of Cassville, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at Mercy Hospital in Cassville.
He was born June 16, 1941, in Jenkins, the son of Gene and Katy (Miller) Hudson. On July 3, 1962, in Miami, Okla., he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Williams and to this union his only son, Douglas Gene Hudson, was born Feb. 5, 1964. Mal and Mary Jane were divorced August 1979, and he never remarried. Preceding him in death were his parents; his son, Doug and two step-grandsons, Jared and Brandon Carter.
Survivors include: his daughter-in-law, Jill Hudson of Rocky Comfort; one brother, Max Hudson of Jenkins; one sister, Jeanenne Lester and her husband Rick; one step-granddaughter; and three step-grandchildren.
He graduated from Cassville High School in 1958. He served his country in the U.S. Army and was honorably discharged in 1958. He attended barber school in Kansas City, and graduated in March, 1959. He returned to Cassville and bought South Side Barber Shop on the square where he worked for 55 years. Graveside services with military honors were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 17, at Clio Cemetery in Jenkins, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Rev. Jerry Nickle conducted the services.
