City of Cassville earns Certificate of Achievement
City clerk recognized by Finance Officers Association
Jennifer Evans, Cassville city clerk and finance officer, has again received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.
This recognition is from the Government Finance Officers Association of the U.S. and Canada or GFOA. It is for the City of Cassville’s Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for the fiscal year 2018.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. This is the third year in a row that the GFOA has recognized the City of Cassville for its excellence in accuracy in accounting and financial reporting.
“The high level of effort that goes into our financial reporting is significant,” said Steve Walensky, Cassville city administrator. “Our financial reports are examined and studied by an independent panel of professionals in the area of government accounting and reporting. Once judged by them to meet the highest level of excellence, accuracy and full transparency on the city’s finances, you receive this award.
“This award is an acknowledgement to Jennifer’s talent and professionalism. Being financially sound positions the city and our community for the future and provides for a strong positive credit rating for any financial requirements we may have in the years to come. I appreciate the recognition of receiving this award again for the third time from the GFOA and thank and credit Jennifer Evans for her determination and skill set she brings to her position here at City Hall.”
