Lanetta “Shorty” Sue Ray

Lanetta “Shorty” Sue Ray, 58, of Shell Knob, passed away at her home on Friday, Jan. 31, 2020. She was born Sept. 23, 1961, in Aurora, the daughter of John and Freda (Fletcher) Suttles. On July 29, 1978, she was united in marriage to Ricky Ray at Victory Church in McDowell; he survives.

She had worked for Vollenweider Orchards in Exeter and the Shell Knob School District. She was a 1979 graduate of Cassville High School.

Additional survivors include: three sons, Rick Ray and his wife Rachel of Carr Lane, Josh Ray and his wife Telisha of Springfield, and Brian Ray and his wife Tanja of Pea Ridge, Ark.; eight grandchildren; her father, John Suttles of Aurora; one brother, Jeremy Suttles of Michigan; two sisters, Diana Sapiens and her husband Tony, and Debra Lane, all of Aurora.

She was preceded in death by her mother; and her twin sister, Janetta Gregory.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Feb. 4 at White Funeral Home, Cassville, with Pastor Lonnie Stockton officiating. Burial was at King Cemetery, Jenkins.
