Arnold P. Maples

Arnold P. Maples, 90, of Springdale, Ark., formerly of Shell Knob, passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2020, in Springdale.

He was born Jan. 25, 1929, in Browns Spring, Mo., the son of Ward and Mary (Childers) Maples. On May 6, 1947, in Marionville, he was united in marriage to Neoma McCullah, who preceded him in death on Sept. 10, 2019. Also preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers, Clarence and Willis Maples and one sister Kathryn Faucher.

Survivors include: two sons, Dennis Maples and his wife Pat of Columbia, and Danny Maples and his wife Brenda of Olathe, Kan.; one daughter, Deyann Corbin and her husband Bob of Springdale, Ark.; one brother, Kenneth Maples of Marionville; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He grew up and received his education in Marionville, where he graduated from high school. He was head deacon at First Baptist Church in Shell Knob, where he conducted the bus ministry. He was currently a member of First Baptist Church in Lowell, Ark.

Services were held Saturday at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Rev. Gary D. Gilmore conducted the services. Burial was at Marionville IOOF Cemetery.
