2 injured in 76 wreck

Vehicle hits tree east of Cassville

Two people were injured Wednesday in a wreck at 7:20 a.m. on Highway 76, eight miles east of Cassville.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Rebecca Boyd, 39, of Shell Knob, was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Tahoe westbound when her vehicle slid off the left side of the roadway and struck a tree.

Boyd suffered serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Springfield. A passenger in her vehicle, a 16-year-old female, suffered minor injuries and was also transported to Mercy Hospital.

Neither were wearing safety devices, and the vehicle was totaled.
