Barry County Democrats to meet

The Barry County Democrats will meet on Feb. 3 at 6:30 p.m. at the Cassville Branch Library. Bring Valentines to sign for residents of our local nursing homes. Guest speakers are coming from Southwest Missouri Democrat headquarters and the Chairperson for the 29th Missouri Senatorial District. The group will discuss setting up its local campaign headquarters and support needed for local candidates. People may call 231-343-2727 for more information.

Stella Eagle Day set for Saturday

Sponsored by the Village of Stella, the Department of Conservation and the Missouri Master Naturalists, Stella Eagle Day is scheduled for Saturday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Stella was founded by Moses Eagle and named after his daughter, Stella Eagle. Eagle watchers will meet at 10 a.m. at the site of the veterans memorial. Spotting scopes will be set up to see the birds up close. The Stella Methodist Church will provide coffee, hot chocolate and cookies. The Church’s dining hall will be open for restroom use and to keep warm, and the cafe will be open. There will be a quilt show in the FEMA building, with setup and display on Friday from 3-5 p.m. and Saturday during the Eagle Day.
