4 injured in Purdy wreck

Vehicle rear ends another making turn

Four people were injured on Wednesday in a wreck at 7:36 p.m. on Highway 37, one mile north of Purdy.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Darrin Dodson, 48, of Purdy, was driving a 2016 Nissan Altima northbound and slowed to make a left turn when his vehicle was struck in the rear by a 2011 Chevrolet HHR, being driven by Nicholas George, 23, of Cassville.

Dodson suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. Two passengers in his vehicle, Emily Dodson, 19, and Esmeralda Dodson, 21, both of Purdy, each suffered serious injuries. Both were transported to Cox South.

George suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Cassville.

All involved were wearing safety devices, and both vehicles were totaled.
