Newspapers donate funds to CoxHealth Foundation

The Cassville Democrat and The Monett Times newspapers recently made their annual donation to the CoxHealth Foundation for Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The newspapers provide a Breast Cancer Awareness informational tab to the public annually in the first publication of October. Businesses are given the opportunity to buy into the publication, and a portion of the total sales is donated to the foundation. According to Lisa Alexander, president of the CoxHealth Foundation, funds raised are designated to women in Barry and Lawrence Counties through their Breast Care Fund. When they receive an application, they look to see where patients are from and the help is applied accordingly. Local area businesses this year supported the cause with over $3,000 worth of advertising. “We appreciate the support and will continue to provide this service each year with new information,” said Lisa Craft, general manager of the newspapers.
