Danny Gale Day
Danny Gale Day, 73, of Purdy, passed away Saturday, Oct. 12, 2019, at Cassville Health and Rehabilitation in Cassville.
He was born April 18, 1946, in Washburn, the son of John and Effie Mae (Snook) Day. On August 8, 2000, in Miami, Okla., he was united in marriage to Wanda Crow, who survives. Also survivors include: two sons, J.R. Day and his wife Staci of Washburn, and Michael Day of Kansas City; two daughters, Michelle Toppass and her husband Mark of Rich Hill, and Melissa Day of Kansas City; and three grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and 10 brothers and sisters, Ruby Lorene Fletcher, Helen Marie Day, William Hardy Day, Alma Louise Smith, Mary Kay Murphy, Harold J. Day, Wallace Walter Day, Virgil “AB” Day, Kenneth Albert Day and John H. Day.
He grew up and received his education in Star Hollow. For many years, he worked at the grape vineyard for Gene Cowherd. Most of his life was spent in Barry County. In his younger years, he lived in the Kansas City area and hauled sheetrock for L.D. Brown and Rew Materials.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 17, at Maplewood Cemetery in Exeter, under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Rick Cooper will conduct the services.
