District tournament opens today
Cassville to face No. 3 seed Seneca in Aurora
The softball season boils down to a series of one-game playoffs for the Cassville softball team beginning today (Wednesday) in Aurora as the Lady Wildcats face Seneca at 6 p.m.
Cassville is the No. 6 seed in the tournament.
At 4 p.m., No. 4 seeded Carl Junction entertains No. 5 seeded Aurora.
The winner of that quarterfinal is rewarded with a Thursday semifinal match with No. 1 seed McDonald County at 4 p.m. on Thursday.
The winner of the Cassville-Seneca bout advances to face No. 2 seed Monett on Thursday at 6 p.m.
The championship match is slated for 5 p.m. on Friday.
All games will be played at Aurora High School.
McDonald County is the defending district champion.
