Measuring the transfer of food to energy can seem nebulous without a formula. Horticulture specialists Robert Balek, from Jasper County, and Kelly McGowan, from Greene County, spread 22 cups of green beans, 23 calories per cup, to demonstrate how much food is needed to generate horsepower.
