Rosa Villeda joins Barry-Lawrence Area United Fund
Lisa Balmas Schoon to retire after 20 years
The Barry-Lawrence Area United Fund has announced that Rosa Villeda has joined its board of directors.
“Her experience with Cox Hospital, Huffmaster Insurance and currently Office Manager for St. Lawrence Church gives her the experience needed by the BLAUF,” said Ken Dudzik, president.
Villeda and her husband, Miguel, moved to the area from California in 2006 and currently live in Stotts City with their son, David, and daughter, Diana.
“Rosa will assume the treasurer’s duties to allow Lisa Balmas Schoon to retire after 20 years,” Dudzik said. “We are pleased that Lisa will continue to serve our community as a board member and sincerely thank her for her many years of service.”
Recently, Schoon secured a $5,000 grant from a nationally well-known family when the organization's incoming contributions declined significantly. This occurred when five manufacturing companies discontinued company and employee contributions.
“We are very thankful that Tyson, Jack Henry, IMEC, EFCO, Missouri Telecom, Main Street Feeds and Wintec supported the BLAUF in 2018,” Dudzik said. “We are currently seeking contributions from individual donors and local businesses in order to continue to provide financial assistance for children and families in our two-county area. A total of 97 percent of funds raised are awarded locally.”
