Area71 recognized as diamond Shakin’ sponsor
Area71 is the diamond sponsor for this year’s Shakin’ in the Shell Fest.
This is the third year that Area71 has been a major sponsor of Shell Knob’s annual fall festival.
“My family has been coming to Shell Knob and Table Rock Lake for years,” said Doug Brown, Area71 owner. “Now that we own a business here, this is one of the ways we want to give back to a community that has always been good to us.”
In its 15th year, Shakin’ in the Shell will be held on Sept. 13 and 14. This year’s line-up of events and activities will provide a full weekend of fun for the entire family. In addition to many of the most popular events, this year’s fest will include axe throwing and tethered hot air balloon rides.
Held at Chamber Park just off Highway 39 in downtown Shell Knob, Shakin’ in the Shell features retail booths, food booths, a boat and RV show, and entertainment by Earl and Them on Friday evening.
Saturday’s activities include the annual Classic and Custom Car Show, talent contest, Little Miss and Mr. Shell Knob pageant, horseshoe competition, axe throwing, kids play area, hot air balloon rides, animals from Dickerson Park Zoo and the always popular ugly dog contest. A beer and wine garden and several food booths will be on-site.
Area71 is located on YY Highway about two miles east of Highway 39 in Shell Knob. It is close to Campbell Point Marina and campground and several local lake resorts. In addition to gasoline and convenience store items, Area71 serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, indoors or on their covered patio. Brown is proud of the quality foods prepared and served by his talented staff. Area71 is committed to using the finest quality ingredients. It hand crafts never-frozen burgers, smokes meats in house and chops and slices fresh veggies daily for the menus. Area71 has also gained a regional reputation for some of the best frozen custard in the Ozarks.
Area71 expanded their catering capabilities for the Table Rock Lake area this spring. Its catering trucks and staff are ready to deliver and serve for dock parties, reunion dinners, weddings or events, fancy or casual.
Area71 has several modern mobile homes for lease and also has 34 RV sites for long- or short-term rental. Thirty additional RV sites and additional facilities are currently under construction.
Brown and his family are Shell Knob residents.
“We really enjoy the lifestyle here at the lake in Shell Knob and are proud to be a part of this community,” he said. “As the seasons change in the Ozarks, Shell Knob provides an ever-changing landscape and new things to do. The Shakin’ in the Shell Fest kicks off the fall season and is a great opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate the things we love about Shell Knob and Table Rock Lake. My family and Area71 are proud to be this year’s diamond sponsor, and we hope everyone enjoys the activities the chamber and committees have put together this year.
Area71 is expanding with corporate headquarters to remain in Shell Knob. It recently opened a new location in Branson on Highway 165 across from Table Rock Lake State Park and has other locations in the works. The Shell Knob location is open seven days a week 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sundays through Thursdays, and 6 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
“Area71 will be one of the food booths at this year’s Shakin’ Fest,” a press release said. “Be sure to visit their booth for wonderful food, cotton candy and frozen custard. Take a moment to thank Area71 for being a diamond sponsor of Shell Knob’s Shakin’ in the Shell Fest.”
