Tax Sale to be held soon

The office of the Barry County Collector is preparing for the annual Barry County Real Estate Delinquent Tax Sale. Missouri law requires that land with three years of delinquent taxes sell on the fourth Monday of august each year. The first publication of this sale will appear in the Cassville Democrat on the week of July 17, at which time copies will be available at the collectorís office. The tax sale listing can be viewed at www.barrycountycollector.com, which will be updated as parcels are paid. The Assessorís Office is preparing books that will contain all parcels that will be up for auction this year. anyone interested in one of the books can come by the Assessorís or Collectorís Offices or call 417-847-4589 or 417-847-2113.

Library event to be held at Family Life Center

In cooperation with the Cassville First Baptist Church, the Cassville Branch Library will†present ďA Galaxy of Giggles,Ē with humorist and storyteller Will Stuck, on Friday. The event will be held at 3:30 p.m. in the Family Life Center and the program is open to all.

Purdy Alumni to host meeting

The Purdy School Alumni Meeting will be held on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the school cafeteria.

Lawrence and Barry County Democrats to meet

The Lawrence and Barry County Democrats will meet on Thursday at the Angus Branch Steakhouse, located at 114 Chapel Dr. in Monett. The Lawrence County Central Committee will hold a short business meeting at 6:30 p.m., with the regular meeting starting at 7 p.m. Those wishing to eat should come at 5:30-6 p.m. and pay for their own meals.
