Lester Albert Berreth
Lester Albert Berreth, 76, of Shell Knob, died June 15, 2019, at Cox South Hospital in Springfield.
He was born Aug. 6, 1942, in Eureka, S.D., to Albert and Rosie (Kautz) Berreth of Artas, S.D.
He received his education at Herreid High School graduating with the class of 1960. He enlisted in the Navy at the age of 17 and served from August 1960 to August of 1966 with a rank of AMS3 E-4.
He married Victoria Elaine Rieger on Sept. 27, 1964, and to this union three children were born Shelly, Dawn and Kelly.
Lester and Vickie made their home in Wichita, Kan., where he worked as an inspector at Boeing. He was at that job for over 20 years.
In December 2002, they moved to Shell Knob to help his daughter and son-in-law Kelly Forsythe at Big Creek Resort. He also was a great handyman.
Survivors include: his wife Victoria of 54 years; daughter, Shelly and Brian Popovich of Wichita, Kan., daughter, Dawn and Kelly Forsythe of Shell Knob; and son Kelly and Sandy Berreth of Wichita, Kan.; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great granddaughter; two sisters, Patricia Allen and (Dennis Lemmon) of Gering, Neb. and Rose Andersen and (Wendell Malsam) of Pierre, S.D.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Bernice and Janice, brothers in law, Bob Brick, Dave Andersen, Gary Allen and Stanley Weinzirl, and one son-in-law Danny Ivey.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 21, at Fohn Funeral Home 27758 State Hwy 39, Shell Knob, Mo.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
