Library Trustee sought

The Barry County Commission are seeking to appoint a library trustee to the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library Board of Trustees from the northern part of Barry County. This is to fill the expired term for a vacancy created by the resignation of Ann Hall, whose term expires June 30. Interested candidates must be a resident of Barry County and be able to attend monthly board meetings in Monett and attend various library functions. Roaring River State Park Hosts “Movie under the Stars’ Saturday

Roaring River State Park invites the public to come out and enjoy some family friendly entertainment with a “Movie Under the Stars” at 8:30 p.m. Saturday with a showing of “Over the Hedge.” The movie is sponsored by the Barry-Lawrence Regional Library as part of the summer library program. The event is free and open to the public. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and bring lawn chairs. Roaring River State Park is located seven miles south of Cassville on Highway 112 in Barry County, in southwest Missouri. Reception to be held for outgoing Barry County collector

There will be a retirement reception for Janice Varner, who will be retiring on June 30 after her 16-plus years as Barry County Collector. The reception will be on June 21 from 1-4 p.m. in the courtroom of the Historic Courthouse on the square in Cassville. The public is invited to attend. The omission of gifts is requested, but cards and sharing of stories are welcome.
