Reception to be held for outgoing Barry County collector

There will be a retirement reception for Janice Varner, who will be retiring on June 30 after her 16-plus years as Barry County Collector. The reception will be on June 21 from 1-4 p.m. in the courtroom of the Historic Courthouse on the square in Cassville. The public is invited to attend. The omission of gifts is requested, but cards and sharing of stories are welcome.

Jenkins Bridge Restoration Foundation to meet

The Jenkins Bridge Restoration Foundation will meet at the Jenkins Fire Station No. 1 on June 11 at 6:30 p.m. Business will include approving completed legal documents and discussing fundraising possibilities.

Eagle Rock Library hosting events in June

People should mark their calendars to joining the Eagle Rock Branch Library for the kick-off of the 2019 Summer Reading Program on Saturday at 10 a.m. The Library is joining with the Eagle Rock Lego Club to start the summer off right. They will have special guest Rusty Pliers performing “A Universe of Magic and Ventriloquism” for everyone to enjoy. On Monday at 3:30 p.m., the Library will be hosting Wonders of Wildlife with a “Book and a Beast.” For more information about the summer programs or to sign up, people may contact the library at 417-271-3186.
