Robert “Bob” Stanley Demski, 82, of Lampe, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019, at his home.
He was born Jan. 4, 1937, in Detroit, Mich., the son of Stanley J. Demski. On Jan. 2, 1965, in San Antonio, Texas, he was united in marriage to Joyce Wilson, who survives.
Additional survivors include: one son, Eric Demski and his wife Diana Mendez-Demski of Castroville, Texas; and brother-in-law, James P. Wilson and his wife Mary Jane of Little Rock, Ark.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Dr. Demski’s list of accomplishments and honors are enormous. He graduated from Georgetown University in Washington D.C., as a medical doctor, then he became a consultant for psychiatry to the U.S. Surgeon General and a military advisor to the Iranian Imperial Air Force as a flight surgeon from 1966 to 1968. He stationed in Iran during the reign of the Shah.
He retired from the Air Force as a full Colonel, and received many prestigious awards in his career. He moved to Missouri in 2004. He was a member of the Catholic Church.
Memorial services were held Tuesday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Shell Knob. Burial with military honors was at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Springfield.
Cremation arrangements were under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Shell Knob.
