Larry “David” Brooks, 55, of Washburn, passed away Monday, May 20, 2019, in his home after a long battle with cancer.
He was born in La Junta, Colo., on Sept. 24, 1963, the son of Leroy Brooks and Mary Jane Moore Brooks. He was united in marriage to Judy Wright on Sept. 25, 1981, who survives; and to this union two sons were born; Matt Brooks of Washburn, and Kyle Brooks and his wife Jona of Cassville; six granddaughters; five brothers, Mark, Allen, Tom, Jeff, J.R.; and four sisters, Becky, Leah, Diane, and Donna. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Brooks, and Mary Jane and Bob Thompson.
He received his education at Southwest R-V School. He worked at Northwest Arkansas Sheet Metal for over 30 years. He loved the Lord and one of the verses that he referenced often during his illness was Proverbs 3:5-6.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 25, at Washburn Prairie Cemetery in Washburn under direction of Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor John Henry conducted the services.
