Shell Knob man arrested following wreck

Vehicle crosses center line south of Aurora

A Shell Knob man was injured and arrested following a wreck at 2 p.m. Sunday on Highway 39, five miles south of Aurora.

According to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report, Shaun Flygare, 36, of Shell Knob, was driving a 1998 Chevrolet Silverado northbound when his vehicle crossed the center line and struck a southbound 2019 Toyota 4Runner, being driven by Sherry Deetz, 58, of Broken Arrow, Okla., and a southbound 2012 Ford F150, being driven by Cody Williams, 34, of Republic.

Flygare suffered serious injuries and was transported by helicopter to Cox South Hospital in Springfield. Deetz and Williams were not injured.

Deetz and Williams were wearing safety devices, and Flygare was not. The Chevrolet and Ford were totaled, and the Toyota sustained moderate damage.

At 3:02 p.m., Flygare was arrested on charges of felony driving while intoxicated with physical injury, misdemeanor careless and imprudent driving involving a crash and no seatbelt.
