Three men graduated Drug Court on Thursday, with proud and smiling faces.

During the Drug Court graduation on Thursday, Johnnie Cox, Barry County Associate Circuit Judge, presented certificates to each of the three graduates. Johnathan Thomas accepted his, with his 14-month-old son Ricky Thomas in his arms. Cox said the court is very proud of these graduates because they were given the opportunity to better their lives by participating in the program and have succeeded in making major changes in their lives. “Treatment courts change lives, and it has been shown in the fact that these participants have maintained sobriety, been employed full time and are strongly involved with their families,” he said. “The next challenge for them will be to stay involved in their recovery, use the tools they have learned to maintain their recovery and avoid the circumstances that brought them into treatment court.”. At the Drug Court graduation on Thursday, Lisa Thomas, wife of graduate Jonathan Thomas, made a speech with their children 14-month-old Ricky Thomas and 7-year-old Jax Burwell.
