Free computer classes, tech help desk available for area residents

Wednesday, May 8, 2019

What started out late last year to be free basic computer classes at the Central Crossing Senior Center in Shell Knob (CCSC) has now evolved into a technology training center and help desk environment for area residents to obtain free assistance with computers, smart phones, email, Internet searches and other related technologies, as well as one-on-one help with self-paced computer training classes, such as Learning How To Use Windows 10.

These free services are offered twice a month on Tuesday’s from 12:45-3:30 p.m. in the CCSC computer room, and are listed on the Activities Calendar as “Computer Class.” Printed copies of the Activities Calendar are available at the Central Crossing Senior Center, or can be obtained over the Internet by clicking on the Activities Calendar link at the bottom of the Shell Knob Seniors website at:

Note that the next class will be May 21, with follow-up classes every two weeks thereafter. The CCSC computer room is equipped with desktop computers that are available for use by area residents, or people may bring a computer or technology-based tool with questions or issues regarding its use, or would just like to learn how to perform a specific task with it, such as using an email service or searching the Internet for product reviews to find one that best fits your needs before actually purchasing it.

These services and classes promises to be fun, educational and free.
