Barry County 4-H plants tree on courthouse lawn

The community came together on Friday when the Barry County Liberty Tree was planted on the courthouse lawn. The Barry County 4-H was awarded the opportunity to brig American History into Barry County by planting the tree. The community came together on Friday when the Barry County Liberty Tree was planted on the courthouse lawn.

Friday on the courthouse lawn, a Liberty Tree was planted by the Barry County 4-H. Liberty Trees, dating back to the Revolutionary War, were once the site of civil discussion in communities. They were the location where townspeople would gather, under the shade, to determine the future of the township through debate. Jordan Privett/jprivett@cassville-democrat.com
