The Cassville Fire Department lit a fire in the field behind the fire station on March 19 after they made a water line around the property to stop uncontrolled spread. Derek Acheson, Cassville assistant fire chief, said the point was to clean up the field a bit, but also to provide some training in grass and brush fires for the upcoming season.
