James “Robert” Taylor

James “Robert” Taylor, 88, of Washburn, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Cassville Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cassville.

He was born Sept. 11, 1930, in Pryor, Okla., the son of Clarence Lonzo and Audrey Faye (Johnson) Taylor. On March 2, 1956, he was united in marriage to Allene Berteau, who survives.

Additional survivors include: one daughter, Barbara Deal of Washburn; two brothers, Eugene Taylor of Lowry City, and Donald Taylor of Hartville; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were his parents and three sisters, Fredlene Jackson, Aulta Faye Cole and Dorothy Coen.

He grew up in Blue Eye where he received his education. In 1960, Robert and Allene moved to Washburn. For many years, he was a cattle farmer and had spent most of his life in Barry County.

Services were held Tuesday, March 19, at Fohn Funeral Home in Cassville. Pastor Dayton Brattin conducted the services. Burial was at Seligman Cemetery in Seligman.
